Applying Lean Thinking to the Software Development Process

You will be introduced to Lean Thinking, the five principles and the seven wastes, and argumentation on how they apply to the Software Development Process. As a result you will see a new world of potential areas of improvements, and have a base from where you can challenge some of the ingrown, accepted and ineffective practices within Software Development. We will reflect on how Lean can be applied to Software Development and investigate an example of applying Lean Thinking to a Software Development Process and review the improvements and how it affects the supporting organisation, the processes and the tools. We will end the session with a perspective on what is critical to a successful implementation of Lean within a Software Development organisation.
